Shabbat Synaplex

Shabbat morning Synaplex is both a spiritual reset, concluding the week that was, and a soul restart for the week ahead. It’s a moment to reconnect with your inner-self, your friends, and with God. Whether you participate for one service (i.e. Renewal from 9:30 am-10:25 am) or stay for longer, we invite you to make Shabbat morning at Shirat Hayam part of your weekly routine.

Shirat Hayam offers a multiplex of options on Shabbat morning to suit every age and those with diverse religious backgrounds and knowledge. Dress is casual.

9:30 am – 10:25 am

Renewal Service – remote access available, see below.

Through music (link to Spotify playlist), prayer snippets (in Hebrew and English), and meditations, we invite you to breathe into and reflect on your life, your relationships, your world, and your connection with God. Held in the main sanctuary with Rabbi Michael, Cantor Sarah and rotating professional musicians and vocalists to accompany them.

Traditional Shacharit Service in our chapel – remote access available, see below.

Traditional morning prayers are recited in the chapel and led by a lay leader.

Center for Jewish Experience (CJE) – Ends at 12:15 pm

Students in pre-K through grade 7 gather for a fresh, camp-style experience and end Shabbat with their participation in closing blessings in the main sanctuary. CJE will hold its first Shabbat classes on Saturday, October 17.  Click Here for the CJE yearly calendar 

Boker Tov Café – available until 11am

Join us for a cup of coffee or tea and light pastry in our lobby and greet old and meet new friends.

Babysitting – Ends at 12:15 pm

Offered to families with children 3 mos-up to 4 years so that they can enjoy any or all parts of Shabbat Synaplex. Space is limited and we ask that parents remain in the building.

10:30 am – 11:15 am

Torah Service – remote access available, see below.

Traditional service with Torah and Haftarah readings. B’nei Mitzvah, namings and other simchas take place during this service in the main sanctuary.

Nosh & Drash – Ends at 11:25 am

An opportunity for Torah learning and discussion. Led by a rotating cast of teachers including Rabbinic Intern Rachel Rubenstein, Janis Knight, Cantorial Soloist Lisa Lipkin and others. Click here for upcoming presenters.

Torah Yoga – Ends at 11:25 am

A meditative journey that unites Jewish teaching with universal themes through Iyengar-inspired movement and breath. Click here for upcoming dates

11:15 am

Musaf, Mourner’s Kaddish, Healing Service & Rabbi Michael (Drash) – remote access available, see below.

Musaf begins and everyone rejoins in the main sanctuary for Mourner’s Kaddish, a musical Healing service, the Rabbi’s Talk* followed by Ruach Rally* and closing blessings.

12:15 am

Shabbat Café

All are welcome to stay for our famous Kiddush lunch. Another opportunity to shmooze with new and old friends.
