In iShir, we learn songs and prayers to perform at the High Holy Day and Shabbat services, and other shul programs. In addition, we go out into the community to perform concerts in synagogues and other Jewish institutions, like the Aviv Center for Living. Open to all children in the community.

With their appearances at High Holy Day services and their monthly participation in Shabbat services, iShir members become advanced in their davening, music and Hebrew skills. In addition, they become accustomed to appearing before an "audience" and participating in synagogue services. As a result, many of these kids will likely lead more of the service and sing duets with me at their b'nai mitzvah. Music to my ears!
